End Suction
SFFECO Horizontal End-Suction Centrifugal Fire Pumps play a critical role in fire protection systems. With their professional engineering, robust construction, and high operational efficiency, they are a preferred choice for a wide range of fire protection applications.
These pumps operate on the principle of centrifugal force to efficiently transfer water from the suction (inlet) to the discharge (outlet). When the motor drives the impeller, water is drawn into the center of the impeller and rapidly accelerated by the rotating blades. The resulting centrifugal force pushes the water outward to the pump casing and directs it through the discharge port into the fire protection system.
Designed for reliability and durability, SFFECO Horizontal End-Suction Centrifugal Fire Pumps are manufactured using high-quality materials and comply with international and national fire protection standards. Their dependable performance ensures effective water delivery during emergencies, while their robust design supports long service life with routine maintenance.

Key components
Pump casing:
The fire pump casing is made of cast iron or ductile iron allowing it to withstand high pressure while protecting the internal components. The spiral design helps guide the water efficiently toward the discharge port.
Impeller:
The impeller is the main rotating component that accelerates water through rotational motion. It is typically made of bronze, stainless steel, or other corrosion-resistant materials. Open, semi-open, and closed impeller designs are available and are selected based on specific application requirements.
Pump shaft:
The pump shaft connects the motor to the impeller and transmits rotational power. It is made from high-strength, corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel.
Mechanical seal:
The mechanical seal is positioned between the pump shaft and the pump casing to prevent liquid leakage. It is typically made of silicon carbide, ceramics, or other wear-resistant materials.
Bearing:
The bearing supports and stabilizes the pump shaft, reducing friction during operation. Periodic lubrication and maintenance are required to ensure reliable and stable performance.
Performance Characteristics
Efficient Operation:
The pump’s centrifugal design maximizes water flow and pressure conversion, delivering steady performance while minimizing energy consumption.
Dependable Reliability:
Constructed from high-quality materials with a robust design, the pump ensures long-term, reliable operation. It meets NFPA 20 and SASO standards to provide trusted performance in emergency situations.
Simplified Maintenance:
Designed for ease of service, the pump’s components are simple to access, disassemble, and replace. Regular maintenance helps maintain stable performance and extends the pump’s operational life.
Installation and application
Installation:
The pump is usually installed in a location that allows easy access for maintenance. Proper piping at the suction and discharge points is typically ensured to prevent cavitation, and an anti-vibration foundation is usually provided to minimize vibration and noise.
Application:
It is widely used in building fire sprinkler and hydrant systems and is suitable for factories, warehouses, commercial complexes, residential areas, and other facilities.
