Description

SFFECO Horizontal Split Case Fire Pumps are high-capacity centrifugal pumps designed to efficiently deliver large volumes of water for fire protection systems. Due to their reliable performance and robust construction, they are widely used in a variety of fire protection applications.

The horizontal split case pump features a double-suction impeller with a symmetrical water intake design. Water enters the center of the impeller from both sides, where it is accelerated by the rotating impeller blades and then directed through the volute casing to the discharge outlet. This balanced double-suction design significantly reduces axial thrust, improving pump stability, operational efficiency, and overall reliability.

Key components

Pump casing:

The pump casing is typically of the split (center-opening) type to facilitate inspection and maintenance. It is usually made of cast iron, ductile iron, or other high-strength materials, allowing it to withstand high-pressure operation.

Impeller:

The impeller features a double-suction design, drawing water from both sides to reduce axial load. It is typically made of bronze, stainless steel, or other corrosion-resistant materials to ensure long service life and high efficiency.

Pump shaft:

The pump shaft connects the impeller to the driving motor and transmits rotational power. It is typically made of high-strength stainless steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance.

Bearing:

The bearing supports and stabilizes the pump shaft, reducing friction, and is typically a rolling or sliding type. Regular lubrication and maintenance are required to ensure stable and reliable pump operation.

Sealing:

A mechanical seal or packing seal is used to prevent liquid leakage. Wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials are typically selected to ensure durability.
